$500.USD

Very fine and rare Yuan/Ming Longquan celadon molded figure of Budai with some carved modification on unglazed portion in perfect condition. I have included an enlargement of a more typical Longquan celadon (bowl #2383) to compare the glazes, which are identical. Longquan figures are quite rare and difficult to authenticate, comparing the glazes leaves no doubt. W: 9.4cm/3.5in and H: H: 8.5cm/3.8in.

$350.USD

Fine early Yuan Dynasty Longquan celadon bowl with incised lotus pattern. There is a quirky firing hairline that circumnavigates the footrim and is mirrored on the incised medallion border inside, (see enlargements). I can only surmise that the potter accidentally created a kind of stress fault when carving this, I have let sit overnight full of water and this piece does not leak a drop, otherwise in perfect original condition. D: 16cm/6.5in and H: 6.3cm/2.5in.

~reserved~ $2000.USD

Fine and rare Yuan Dynasty azure glazed Jun bowl with purple splash, perfect condition. Please compare the bubbles and cracalature with examples from the Taipei National Palace Museum in last enlargements, the bubbles on this piece are smaller and harder to see but have the typical “honey” color of old Jun. Jun was considered one of the official wares of the Northern Song dynasty and it should be noted that the in the Taipei collection they have reassessed the dating of Junyao to date only fr ...click for details

Fine and rare Yuan Dynasty azure glazed Jun bowl with purple splash and completely glazed to the footrim. There are few tiny hairlines on the mouthrim actually (actually only one plainly visible-the other two are so small as to be impossible to photograph) noted in enlargements and two bubble burst defects in center. Please compare the bubbles and cracalature with examples from the Taipei National Palace Museum in last enlargements. Jun was considered one of the official wares of the Northern So ...click for details

~Sold to Hong Kong, do jie lei!~ $1200.USD

Beautiful and red glazed censer from the Dehua kiln, the same one that produces the Blanc de Chine white porcelain. This is an early Qing piece-Yongzheng/Qianlong and guaranteed to be of that period. As this has different shades of red ranging from sang de boeuf to peachbloom, simply describing as red seems the most apropos. There is one very fine hairline, plainly visible only on the edge the rim which extends about 1 cm down the side and can only be seen with a loupe. H: 7.2cm/2.9in and D: 11. ...click for details

Exceptionally fine and fecund looking image (if you don’t mind the damage) of the Goddess Uma, circa 1200 CE Khmer. This is a classic piece, H: 7cm/2.8in.

VF Western Xia coin, Renzong 1149 CE. I cherry picked this piece out of about a 100 as it was thicker than the rest (I guess this a good thing). The Tangut Xi Xia have a fascinating history~ loads of intrigue until their demise and ultimate obliteration by the Mongols in 1227, you can Google it like I did.

Very rare Xin (Wang Mang, 9-23 CE) Western/Eastern Han interregnum privately minted bronze charm/coin with Northern Dipper Constellation (Big Dipper), tortoise and sword symbols on obverse side. I have compared this with an original Wang Mang coin and there is no difference in material or size other than the symbols i.e., this was meant to be a lucky charm and not money. There is a minor split in the lower right quadrant on the face, barely visible on the other side unless you pick at the ve ...click for details
