Very fine traditional Tibetan or Bhutanese robe (chuba) handwoven sash with P’ulo-tigma (wax resist/tie dye) red and black medallions, composed of wool (possibly Yak?) weft and cotton warp. My original intention was use this to make borders for an antique Tibetan rug, but it seems a shame to cut up such a nice piece. This was sourced from Tibetan traders from Dharamshala and is contemporary using traditional techniques. L: 3.8m/12.4ft x W: 14cm/5.5in.

Complete set of five Shan Buddhist images comprised of a Buddha three monks and a chedi. These are covered with traditional gold and back lacquer and the bodies are made from compressed powdered herbs or temple incense ash. Good bamboo handled knife from the Karen ethnic group Northern Thai/Burma border. Total length 31cm/12in with good edge- small nick at the tip off the blade which could be honed out, about 50 years old.
