VF Western Xia coin, Renzong 1149 CE. I cherry picked this piece out of about a 100 as it was thicker than the rest (I guess this a good thing). The Tangut Xi Xia have a fascinating history~ loads of intrigue until their demise and ultimate obliteration by the Mongols in 1227, you can Google it like I did.

Very rare Xin (Wang Mang, 9-23 CE) Western/Eastern Han interregnum privately minted bronze charm/coin with Northern Dipper Constellation (Big Dipper), tortoise and sword symbols on obverse side. I have compared this with an original Wang Mang coin and there is no difference in material or size other than the symbols i.e., this was meant to be a lucky charm and not money...

Collection of 5 silver Gaden Tangka Tibetan coins minted between 1840 and 1930. Frequently (and erroneously) called Dalai Lama coins which were struck as presentation gifts to monks in the late 1940s- were made of pure silver, these are approximately 70% silver mixed with 30% copper. The most common issues are from 1897 to 1925 and will date these as such. Reference: Oriental Numismatics Society, Occasional Paper #17, N.G. Rhodes 1983...

Very rare and eclectic Lao copper wedding token in the shape of a lat, also referred to as a tiger tongue coin. This was the form of money used in the Kingdom of Lanchang/Lanxang in what is now Laos and Northeast Thailand, late 16th to early 18th century. Fine and rare “hallmarked” silver Tamlung from the Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Mai 1615-1768. I tested this with an aqua regis kit and it shows a very high silver content, 90% +. I have a set of low quality, alloy, lacquered “toks” on my site and this is the best one I have ever seen. You may Google- Money Museum and search Tok Thailand for the full story on this coinage. D: 5.2cm/2.2in and weighs, according to my kitchen scale approximately 70 grams.

Thai silver and copper alloy “coins” from the Northern Thai Lanna Kingdom, circa 1700 or earlier. All have traces of old gold colored lacquer similar to what was used on Buddhist images of the period, which makes them fairly easy to date. These were most likely minted in Chiang Mai and were still used by the hill tribes the region after Lanna was assimilated into the Greater Thai Kingdom and the introduction of western style flat coins in the late 19th century...

Eclectic small copper bangle from the Khmu (Khamu) ethnic minority in Northern Laos, this is a barter/heirloom item that would be used to trade within the community. These people are the original inhabitants of the region and predate the Lao and Thai peoples. They usually live in remote areas around Luang Prabang and practice simple agriculture, hunting and gathering as well as bartering goods with other neighboring minorities...

Three Xin Dynasty (3-23 CE) -coins in excellent condition. This brief reign is of historical significance as it marks the transition from the Western Han to Eastern Han Dynasty. Emperor Wang Mang was a Han noble who overthrew Western Han government and tried to institute many social and political reforms, among which was the currency system. His reign was short and apparently disastrous. Note scale is in centimeters.
