Exceptionally fine mid 20th CE wedding cover from the Zhuang ethnic group, Guzhou This piece is in perfect condition and is composed of silk floss on all handspun cotton using the supplementary weft embroidery technique. Woven with all hand spun cotton threads except for the commercially made upper and lower borders that have been sewn onto this piece. I collected this in Chiang Mai around 15 years ago and would date it around 50 to 90 years old. Nowadays you just can’t find this sort of textile anymore.
