Nice little jade leaf, hard to tell if it is jadeite or nephrite but it has quite a good carving with the surfaces having been sculpted giving it a three dimensional effect. L: 3.5cm/1.4in. Circa 100 years old.

Nice old Burmese Jadeite bracelet circa 50 years old or more, there is an old crack on the surface and possible inclusion- but quite a bit of Jade stone went into cutting this piece. Nowadays most bangles are made from less jade to save costs and materials and also worth noting that new “dyed” jade will lose it’s color after a few years while a piece this old will stay the same. Outer diameter 7.4cm, inner diameter 5.5cm and thickness 1.4cm.

$450.USD

Very rare and quirky phallic shaped small nephrite hairpin from the Ming Dynasty, the woman I bought this from referred to it as the “gao” (a crude Cantonese expression for penis- so it’s not just my imagination) jade. L: 8.3cm/3.2in. The last enlargement is a reference from Chinese Jade by Jessica Rawson and was found in a tomb near Shanghai. Excellent original condition with small naturally occurring inclusion at the back.

Very old (possibly Neolithic) but will guarantee at least 1000 year old, nephrite ring or small bangle. The stone is in the initial stages of calcification but the surface is still quite hard and will not scratch with a stainless steel edge. D: 6cm/2.3in and thickness: 6mm/.4in.

~Sold to Canada, thanks a bunch!~$150.USD

Strand of calcified jade tubular beads circa 4500 years old, see last enlargement of Liangzhu culture for reference of similar artifacts. All of the beads are thoroughly calcified but a few still have smoothed polished surfaces which is unique to calcified jade. L: 88cm/34.5in.

Fine and rare off white nephrite jade “curtain weight”. The Tang attribution is very conservative as this shape of jade has been recorded back as far as the Warring States Period (475BCE- 221BCE). Since there is no carving on it I have given it a later dating. This piece is very evenly cut at sharp angles and is polished on all sides. The condition is quite good with only a few tiny calcified “flea bites” in the stone. It has a holed drilled through the center and may be worn as a pe ...click for details

~Sold to China, xie xie ni!~ $80.USD

Quirky pendant with two holes most like used as a fastener. I don’t know what the stone is, it is not jade or agate (a little too soft). Probably quite ancient but I will guarantee it to be over100 years old. There is a Chinese character on the bottom but so far it has been undecipherable. L: 4cm/1.5in and W: 3cm/1.2in

Strand of twenty white glass beads collected in Yunnan, China in the late 1980s. Average diameter is 1.2cm and length of strand is 12.5cm. These have unusually large holes which is typical of pre Qing Dynasty glass beads. Overall in good condition- three have cracks.

Good small mottled gray nephrite perforated disc, circa Tang Dynasty or earlier. D: 2.4cm/.9in and thickness: 8mm/.22in. Lovely stone- please examine close ups where I have highlighted “tell tale” carving lines with red arrows of a genuine ancient piece. This was probably part of a series of center leftover cuts from a much larger Bi.

Nice small nephrite perforated disc circa 600 years or earlier (most likely much earlier), with some calcification. D: 3.2cm/1.2in and thickness: 7mm/.25in. Good piece- please examine close ups to see “tell tale” carving lines of a genuine ancient piece. This was probably a center cut leftover from a much larger Bi.

Fine auspicious 8 sided Qing Dynasty nephrite damper bowl for an opium pipe. Smoking opium from a jade bowl was supposed to enhance one’s longevity and are very rare. There are few chips at the rim of the hole and smoke stained inclusions. Spare a thought for patience and craftsmanship to hollow out a jade stone to achieve such a thin walled piece. D: 5cm/2in and H: 3.5cm/1.3in. Stand incuded.

Two fragments of a jade ornament, circa Tang or Liao Dynasties, of a Buddhist celestial being. Obviously these pieces have a lot of calcification but would make good study pieces for a serious jade collector. The workmanship is impossibly minute and fine on these, although it is difficult to tell from the photos, it is well contoured with a good three dimensional quality. See last enlargement for scale.

$300.USD

Beautifully carved red Nephrite jade cong with carved bands and face. This piece is probably mid 20th century although copies from famous Neolithic sites like Liangzhu and Hongshan were commissioned as early as the Qianlong reign for discerning collectors. D: L: 5.6cm/2.2in and W: 2.2cm/.8in. This kind of jade is quite rare so much of the value in this piece lies in the stone as well as the workmanship.
