$1200.USD

Exceptionally rare small Tang lion from the Changsha Kiln, in Hunan Province. Almost 99% of all wares from this kiln are subject to heavy flaking and fritting of the glaze so this piece has been professionally restored and the glaze stabilized, using modern and up to date materials. Please examine the enlargements carefully. This is a vessel of some sort with a serviceable spout in the mouth most likely meant for the scholar’s desk. H: 7cm/2.8in.

Good pair of Tang Dynasty gray clay bricks depicting “Atlas” type figures seated on lotus flowers. I was in Taxila once and saw similar figures which to my mind illustrate the Greco/Roman influence in Tang art. The lotus shows indicates an obvious Buddhist connection. Both pieces are painted with “stucco” in good condition with no damage. W: 14.5cm/5.8in and H: 17.7cm/7in each.

~Sold to the U.S., thanks!~ $260.USD

Fine and rare Qijia culture (2400 BCE – 1900 BCE) three handled pot. This style is well documented in Dawn of the Red Earth and Neolithic Pottery: Muwentang Collection by Simon Kwan. There is some discoloration one section of the rim indicating an attempt to restore some very minor shallow chips but nothing egregious and in good condition given its antiquity. H: 9.2cm3.6in and mouthrim D: 11.3cm/4in.

$220.USD

Rare and unusual Iban pottery pattern paddle carved from durable Iron Wood, circa 19th century. The pattern on this would be pressed into unfired clay pots to give it this design by the Iban people of Sarawak. This technique has been used since Neolithic times predating the pottery wheel, where pots were made by coiling “ropes” of clay into a shape and then using the paddle to press the coils together. The edge is rough at the bottom of the handle other than that this piece is in excel ...click for details

One of kind Cizhou type stoneware vase from a Northern Kiln circa 11th/12th CE, with amber brown glaze and large greenish splash running down the side. Conventional wisdom would suggest that this should be Jin Dynasty but the unusual glaze and the way the bottom sharply narrows at the base is atypical, so Xi Xia is a best guess on my part however the dating is guaranteed. Excellent original condition- H: 19.2cm/7.5in and D: 12cm/4.8in.

~Sold to New Zealnd, cheers~! $150.USD

Beautiful small vase with Jun glaze, as much as I’d like to believe I doubt if it is Song or Yuan, most likely Shekwan ware and possibly Republic. H: 18cm/7.1in and D: 8.5cm/3.3in. Whoever made this piece definitely mastered the ability to replicate the Jun glaze- I am not representing this as an antique but would recommend this for anyone who appreciates the finer things in life.

$800.USD

Exceptionally fine and rare classic “pea green” celadon glazed vase from the early Qing. The “brown wash” inside the footrim is typical of Qianlong and guaranteed to be of this period or earlier. Please observe the close up of the inside of the mouthrim to see the normal wear of copper rim which is a much softer substance than the porcelain glaze, I am not sure if this is a repair or the way it was originally made. If it is a repair it is a very old one, as I have not seen this type of work ...click for details

$270.USD

Song Dynasty white bowl from the Ding Yao kiln in Hebei. This is a classic piece from a much sought after kiln. This is possibly a kiln discard but has no warpage, cracks or chips. As noted in enlargements there is quite a bit of grit adhering to the foot and the center of the cavetto has some spots where more kiln grit appears to be ground out. This piece might be good candidate to send to a restorer to be repolished or just kept as is. A good opportunity for a collector on a budget to acquir ...click for details

Good small soy colored near black glazed bowl from a Northern kiln, possibly Shaanxi. The glaze compares favorably to similar pieces from Yaozhou.
