Large 19th century Qing Dynasty blue and white porcelain plate with auspicious symbols- the center is decorated with two birds perched in peonies, bordered by bats, and lotus scrolls, the outer border consists of peach blossoms interspersed with butterfly and fish panels- the reverse has an apocryphal seal script mark (most likely Qianlong) and bamboo. Rare Cizhou type bowl with dark brown near black glaze and gray body. This is an elegant piece with a wide mouth and shallow basin, The Yaozhou Ware Museum has an identical piece in its collection- reference Masterpieces of Yaozhou; plate 114, page 89 (can scan on request). There is a firing chip on the outside of the footrim, a few unglazed tiny spots on the mouthrim as well a pocket of air trapped inside the body- all may be viewed in enlargements. D: 17.2cm/6.8in and H: 6.3cm/2.5in.

Exceptionally fine early Qing porcelain bowl circa Yongzheng/Qianlong with Ge type glaze. There is one chip on the footrim noted in enlargement #5 and wear in the center as to be expected of an old piece. This piece is quite thinly potted for a Ge type with a paraffin patinaed brown glazed rim and inner foot. H: 6.2cm/2.5in and D: 14.5/5.6.

Exceptionally fine and rare celadon glazed vase from the early Qing. The “brown wash” inside the footrim is typical of Qianlong and guaranteed to be of this period or earlier. Please observe the close up of the inside of the mouthrim to see the normal wear of copper rim which is a much softer substance than the porcelain glaze, I am not sure if this is a repair or the way it was originally made. H: 28.7cm/11.2in and D: 17cm/6.7in.

Exceptionally fine, blue and white, Kangxi reign (1662-1722) censer with two dragons motif. This piece has been dipped in a white slip, presumably to give the body a smooth even surface prior to application of the glaze. The effect is quite subtle, adding depth and substance to the glaze. I purchased this piece from an old Hong Kong collection and was told that it is a Transitional- Shunzi reign (1644-1661) item.
