Rare Buddhist votive terra cotta plaque, circa 10th, or earlier. Very interesting iconography with the Buddha seated on a lotus supported by two Brahma (Nandi) bulls and central Ganesha head. So far I have not found any references to similar piece, so this could be a one of a kind. The inclusion of Hindu deities, suggest that this may have a Pala influence He is surrounded by a dotted nimbus on his torso, with a flaming one around his head, seated beneath a Bo tree Condition as pictured, the facial features are still legible, on the back, lines have been carved to represent the leaf of a Bo tree as well as an incised but illegible inscription. H: 9.8cm/3.8in and W: 8.3cm3.3in.
