Colorful full length two paneled men’s tube sarong from Ende, Flores Island, Indonesia. I bought this new in the 1980s, and it has been in storage since then, having washed it once once. The brightly colored bands are made with commercial silk thread weft threads. The rest of the piece is made of handwoven handspun natural dyed cotton, with two bands of ikat. There are tiny weaving flaws here and there (little spots of broken threads, but no holes) otherwise pristine original condition. I bough this direct from a weaver near Ende, and was told that only men wore this style .W: 128cm/50in and L: 128cm/50in.
