description: Standing Buddha Ava Period Burma. The truncated ushnisa (top knot on the Buddhas head) differentiates this item from later 19th/20th century Shan images which normally have a long spire like ushinsa or Mandalay Burmese Buddhas that have only a rounded protuberance. This item is circa 17th Ava period. White bronze figure of Buddha probably part of votive ensemble commemorating the life of the Buddha. Part of the robe is broken at the corner, traces of red and gold lacquer on black patina. Dimensions 12.2cm.4.8in height. Included is a museum quality custom-made perspex stand.
