Very rare stoneware bottle from unknown kiln circa Sui to Tang Dynasties. I have not seen this particular shape or glaze documented anywhere, but the hardness yet smooth texture of the clay as well as splayed and rimless foot would indicate this period. Sandstone colored reddish clay body and celadon type glaze with very attractive blue Jun like highlights. Big chip to the base and the glaze around the mouthrim has worn off and one big chip on the mouthrim as well- all noted in enlargements. H: 25cm/9.9in and D: 16cm/6.2in. Restoration is available.
