| Vintage Cultural Revolutionary poster of Jiang Qing otherwise known as Madame Mao, a former grade B Shanghainese movie starlet turned revolutionary. Arguably Jiang Qing was briefly the most powerful woman ever in history as she pulled the strings behind the throne during Chairman Mao’s mental decline in the early 70’s. This poster dates 1967/ 6 and is of the period corresponding with height of the political and social purges of the Cultural Revolution. In excellent condition with a good old fashion “Commie red” (albeit, a bit faded) background and some minor gradual dark discoloration towards the bottom. H: 35cm/13.7in and W: 36cm/14.1in. | |||||||
