Very rare and unusual small bronze Buddha from circa Northern Dynasties period 386 CE- CE 581CE. The general style, i.e. deeply incised whorls on the nimbus as well as the two dimensional qualities in the seated posture indicate a very early period. The very thin bronze casting, detailed face and robe folds and attention to detail in the incised pattern are extremely well executed. Perfect condition with fine dark brown patina and traces of green verdigris. This is a one of a kind piece. H: 8.6cm/3.5in
