Cizhou vase
Very rare stoneware cizhou type bottle vase circa 12th CE. This was attributed to being from the Xixia Kingdom (1032-1227 CE) upon acquisition. The glaze is quite enigmatic, being a thick amber brown with greenish cream splashes, a cream glazed interior and dark brown glaze inside footrim. If not Xixia I would say this piece is most likely Jin Dynasty (1115-1234 CE). I will guarantee this piece to be no later than 13th century and from a Northern Kiln. There is one firing blister on the shoulder and a single small old chip under the lip of the mouthrim, noted in the last two enlargemnts. H: 19.4cm/7.6in and D: 12.2cm/4.8in.
