Fine and well executed large figural and landscape painting. So far the artists name and the seals are undecipherable but the cyclical date on this painting is 1709 and style matches the Kangxi period to which this painting is dated. I have had this painting in my possession for about 20 years and I had it remounted 5 years ago as the old and original mounting was starting to fall apart. The painting is in excellent condition there are a couple of pin holes in the mounting but that’s it. I will guarantee this painting at least 100 years of age only (end of the Qing Dynasty), as there was a Kangxi revivalist trend towards the end of the Qing, and many works of art of that period, particularly the Guangxu reign, bear apocryphal Kangxi marks and datings. I am selling this piece based on its artistic merit and considerable size. Mounted H: 2.4meters/8ft and W: 1m/3ft3in, unmounted actual painting H: 1.6meter/5ft3in and W: .84meter/33in. Please note the there is a bit of dappled sunlight on the photos, as the only place I could find to photograph a painting this size was outdoors under the peach tree on a gate in my front yard.
