Well used and much loved old Jingdezhen porcelain inkstone with mythical beast and four character mark “jade, stone, unusual, treasure”. Circa Kangxi/Yongzheng reigns 1662-1735 CE. The working surface has a lovely feel, raised slightly in the center and is still very serviceable. There are some large worn chips on the bottom, a fingernail shape crack at the top as well as some old restoration to the edge of grinding area (to be honest I don’t know why they bothered with this bit)- noted in enlargements. Very heavy and thickly potted, a very tactile ceramic! D: 10.5cm/4.1in and 4cm/1.5in.
