Fine and rare Southern Song black glazed bowl with brown highlights on rim and light gray clay body from the Jian type Wuyi Shan Kiln, in Fujian. There is one firing anomaly on the rim noted in the last enlargement, viewed under a strong lens this is original and not a restoration or repair, there is a hairline fracture in the glaze but fine streaks in this area match perfectly with the rest of the piece (a bit like “rifling” marks on a bullet), also there are some scratches in the cavetto but over all this piece is in excellent condition. D: 11.5cm/4.5in and H: 5.7cm/2.2in.
