Lovely Qing Dynasty ornately patterned bowl with auspicious scenes and symbols, from the Guangxu reign (1875-1908), period and mark. The characters and scene in the center of the bowl, one, crane, lotus, rise (up) - wishes the owner to be promoted; which was a common theme amongst the Mandarins who ran the Imperial civil service. There are two firing cracks on the rim noted in enlargements 2# and 3#. This piece still retains a porcelaneous ring when tapped. D: 14.5cm/5.7in and H: 6.4cm/2.5in.
