Song black bowl with brown splashes
stock number: 1895
price: ~Sold to Sweden,Tackar så mycket!~ $1000.USD/$7500.HKD
description:
Fine and rare black bowl with a smooth dense gray clay body and brown splashes, from a Henan Kiln, Song or Jin Dynasty, although I tend to put it on the Northern Song side of the fence due to its finely potted narrow footrim. Excellent original condition with some natural wear and a minor bubble burst on the rim, no chips or cracks. This piece has “spur” support marks in the center which I have yet to see on this kind of ware. I personally like this piece; it has loads of “character” and feels very nice when held in the hands. The smooth gray body has a similar to feel to some Tang Lushan and Huangdao wares I have had so there may be some connection to these kilns with this piece. D: 18cm/7in and H: 7cm/2.8in.
