Fine and rare “Ding” type straight sided bowl with a green tinted transparent glaze on a high fired porcelaneous white clay body from a Northern Kiln. This piece has a clear bell like tone when tapped, and has been dipped twice, as evidenced by the drip marks on the glazed interior of the bowl. This has an unglazed ring in the center indicating it was stacked upright during firing which would date it to circa Jin Dynasty, 1115-1234 CE, as well as an unglazed mouthrim. Aside from two tiny shallow glaze chips/frits on mouthrim it is in perfect condition. In the center of the of foot rim there are three subtlety incised “strokes” which I believe to be the potter’s signature (see enlargement #5). D: 15.2cm/6in and H: 11cm/4.3in.
