description: Old (First half of the 20th ce) Lion Dance Mask from the Tujia or Zhuang minority. Probably from Hunan Province, this unique mask was sourced in Guangxi Zhuang Province in 1993. Condition: Excellent, no cracks or repairs. Original paint with “Wang (King)” Chinese character on forehead. I have seen quite a few of these sorts of masks in my travels and this the only one I have seen that so much resembles in style the art of the Northwest Coastal American Indians. Dimensions 46cm-semi circumference, 33cm width, and 34cm height.
