description: Good early 20th CE pair of Lanna style Northern Thai Buddhas. The small one on left is amulet sized (H: 5.2cm/2in) with traces of gold and black lacquer and the larger one is a small votive image (H: 7.2cm/2.8in). Of interest, these are cast in zinc which has a much lower melting temperature than bronze which makes it easier to cast in them large numbers and has a much more pleasing appearance and feel than lead.
