Very fine polished shouldered stone axe from the late Neolithic Period, found in Nan Province Thailand near the Lao Border. I acquired a collection of these a couple of years ago and have been holding this one back since was the best of the lot. Stunning Tiger Rug, Baotou, Nei Mongol, China. Circa late 19th/early 20th century. 160cm x 90cm. Nice abrash. Some small old repairs, please see last enlargements for close up of repairs. Afghan Baluch: Stunning (at least I think so) very old rug from Afghanistan Baluch weavers, all natural vibrant dyes. No a lot of knots but very supple and clean. Most of the flat weave head end is missing on one head end and about 15cm missing on the other. There are a couple of small holes and quite a few small but old repairs. Ensemble of 4 Lanna Thai Buddhist reading implements (analogous to a Yad Torah Pointer). Used to mark pages and point out words while reciting a sutra from a Buddhist manuscript, i.e. individual pages sandwiched between two small wooden planks. The one with most vivid gold looks to have been re lacquered- circa 50 to 90 years old. Check enlargements for size.
