Three classic bronze dragons, made for export circa 1980 by the China Arts and Crafts store. The CAC were known for selling only high quality items in order to promote the Chinese arts and crafts industry. L: 11cm/4.2in and H: 6.2cm/2.5in. Finely woven and exquisite fern fiber (li pao) on rattan evening purse with mirror under the lid. This craft is unique and has been around since the Ayuthayya Period ( 300 years). It was reinvigorated under the patronage of the now royal mother Queen Sirikit. There is light coating lacquer on the surface with copper hinges and inner chains (broken). Over all very good condition with minor defects (a few lipa fibers have popped out of the hinge, one the copper “feet” is missing...

Delicate small porcelain Buddha with gilt glaze a beautiful expression on the face- produced in the 2nd half of the 20th century from Jingdezhen- there is an apocryphal Qianlong mark in seal script on the back, perfect condition! H: 9cm/3.5in and W: 5.5cm/2.in.

Lao, continuous supplementary weft “kit” woven festival banner. This is created from all handspun silk and natural dyes. I acquired in Vientiane, Laos in 2010, and this is highest quality of this type of weave available. Included is simple hand carved “elephant” textile hanger. An exceptional home décor accent piece. Please note I put a grain of rice in the last enlargement to highlight the detail of this work. L: 186cm/73in and W: 18cm/7in.

Four well carved jade charms- the cicada is Burmese jadeite, the nephrite melon and fish have russet surface highlights and the tiger is particularly nice- carved in the Ming style. Scales are in enlargements. Total weight is 31 grams.

Fine pair of black temmoku bowls with russet rims and traces of silver leaf patterns. Both are in excellent condition. D: 9.1cm x H: 3.9cm. Suitable for tea ceremonies. These are about 90% correct for being of the Song period, but the lack of excavation traces and inside the foot rim being to level and flat throws doubt on this, also the patterns are usually seen on Wuyi Shan Kiln pieces and not in Jianyang.

Unique cricket box with glass front, wire mesh cover and copper repoussé image of crickets and “Eight Horses-八駿全圖 ” after the style of China’s most famous 20th century artist Xu Beihong -徐悲鴻. Small wooden statue of a female seated ancestor image covered in natural lacquer from an Ibanic ethic group in Kalimantan- (Indonesian Borneo). Circa last quarter 20th century, this an authentic tribal piece- not for the tourist market. H: 16cm/6.2in, acquired from an old Australian collection.

An ensemble of three ancestral figures from the Island of Nias, Sumatra. All come with an exotic wood custom made stand, dimensions in enlargement, acquired from an Australian collection with no significant age attribution.

Good Kayan Orang Ulu gawai rice festival ceremonial mask, circa 40 years old, from Sarawak. I bought this piece in Kuching, Sarawak in 2003. Used only twice a year for rice planting and harvesting festivals (gawai), these gatherings were usually a good excuse for a party and celebration to encourage the spirits to ensure a good harvest. H: 25cm/9.8in and W: 16cm/6.2in.

Vintage brass “puja kalash” water or milk container used in ritual Hindu ceremonies from Southern India, H: 13cm/5.1in x D: 12cm/4.8in. Very finely turned in a simple but elegant shape and quite heavy, near 1kg- and signed (noted in enlargements), appears to be unused but with some patina- made circa mid 20th century.

Lovely pair of exquisite, miniature porcelain vases with Ge type glaze circa mid-20th century (possibly older). On the bottom there are two characters “ya wan”, meaning elegant entertainment, possibly might made for a private collection. Please note how easily the light shines through the porcelain in the last enlargement- only a highly skilled artisan is capable of this. Would make classic doll’s house furniture. Formal Indian Sari (just like the ones you see in Bollywood movies), worn for weddings or important religious occasions. This has never been worn. I acquired it from an estate where it has been sitting in a trunk for the past 20 years, and the inside humdity, which caused the brown dye to bleed into the embroidered border somewhat. Please examine images. This L: 5m x 1.4m and is handloomed silk. It was woven in Banaras in the two toned Tanchoi style and silver thread “jari” embroidery...

Fine old wedding blanket from the Mulao ethnic group in Southern China. This has a classic floral, butterfly and phoenix weft embroidered pattern. Excellent condition with no damage- this is woven with all handspun cotton thread with some tiny bits of silk floss. The dyes are a combination of indigo and possibly aniline and organic mix in the red and orangeish colors. L: 100cm/39.5in and W: 72cm/28.2in - with border L:122cm/48in and W: 88cm/35in.

Lovely vintage ge type glazed wine cup, circa mid 20th century (not new, but not too old), most likely from Fujian or Guangdong. D: 9.5cm/3.8in and H: 5cm/2in.

Very fine old skirt from a Northern Chin ethnic group, Myanmar. The indigo dyed upper panel is woven with very soft handspun local cotton while lower embroidered panel is all silk.
