Unusual Longquan kiln celadon brushwasher with inset foot ring and legible impressed lotus in center. There is one very fine small hairline, noted in last enlargement. L: 2cm noted in enlargements. Nice sea green color.. L: 11.4cm/4.5in x H: 3.1cm/1.4in. Free shipping!

The high footrim and lipped mouthrim would indicate this piece is Northern Song, there is firing ring in the center where another piece would have been stacked on top during the firing process. The glaze has an even green hue with nice craquelure and smooth surface patina (not at all dry and flaky). The body is beautiful white stoneware. Lovely olive colored, Longquan celadon glazed saucer/brushwasher- a nice heavy piece with a fine shiny glaze with impressed lotus in the center. There is a filled chip covered with gold leaf and lacquer (poor man's urushi), noted in enlargements. D: 14.8cm/5.8in and H: 3.8cm/1.5in.

Set of 3 “Socialist Kitsch”, porcelain brush pots with green Jingdezhen “China” marks inside the “bi” shaped footrims, circa 1960s-1970s. Lovely pair of exquisite, miniature porcelain vases with Ge type glaze circa mid-20th century (possibly older). On the bottom there are two characters “ya wan”, meaning elegant entertainment. Small porcelain Vietnamese shipwreck recovery water dropper in the shape of an elephant. The glaze has dissolved after so long under the water but the body is intact. This is most likely from the Cau Ma shipwreck, circa 1775, discovered off the coast of Vietnam. No chips or damage. L: 6.2cm/3.2in and H: 5cm/2in.

Good small early circa 14th/15th century porcelain jar, with abstract floral scroll pattern, from Vietnam. There is a surface frit noted in enlargements. D: 8.9cm/3.5in and H: 8cm/3.1in.

Exquisite pair of saucers with identical mirrored images of a garden scene with butterflies. This a homage to “Minister Giuseppe Castiglione” (郞世寧 Láng Shìníng) a famous Italian painter assigned to the Imperial Court during the of reigns of the three classic Qing Emperors-Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong. Good Qingbai teapot/water dropper with lid. This is a robustly potted, unusual squat shape with incised lid (please note pattern on both sides) and hexagonal spout. The spout was probably reattached with minimal loss to glaze, the hairline firing cracks that radiate from the top are in the glaze only and do not go into the body. D: 10.5cm/4.3in and H: 7.8cm/3.1in. The dense “sugary” texture clay indicates this was fired Jiangxi Province, possibly Jingdezhen.

Lovely double gourd, Dehua porcelain small vase, circa late Qing or Republic Era.. Please note the third enlargement the surface appears to be smudged, this area originally had a handle that broke of and has been polished down. H: 11.3cm/4.4in and D: 6.8cm/2.9in. A simple well balanced elegant piece, suitable for a sing rose. Basic stand included.

Late Qing Dynasty, most likely Guangxu Period porcelain vase with wonderful mountain and garden scene and two scholars playing weiqi. The mouth rim is cracked and is noted in close-ups. 23cm/9in height and 15cm/5.9 diameter.

This was fired in Guangdong Province and locally this type is referred to as a “gunpowder” jar although, I don’t know if this was it what it was really used for. Included is a decent wood lid. Qing light colored celadon, crackle glaze plate circa 18th century. This has a filled chip with gold leaf. Nice cracquelure. The original owner had incised their name on the glaze, which I have highlighted with a bit of baby powder. D: 22.7cm/8.9in and H: 4.3cm/1.7in.

Two small Ming jarlets. Sort of wabi-sabi, but no major damage. There are some surface glaze firing cracks and fritting on the mouth rim on the larger jar. Larger jar D: 6.7cm/2.7in and H: 5.3cm/2.1in, smaller jar D: 5.8cm/2.3in and H: 5cm/1.9in.
