This could be representing Shiva with his consort Parvati and son Ganesh. Superb workmanship, circa 19th century. Diame...

Quirky image of Ganesh accompanied by four rats as devotees and musicians. This is from the last half of the 20th century- possibly a tribal image. This is a molded gray clay brick/tile from the Tang Dynasty, featuring an "Atlas" type Yakshi figure seated on a lotus blossom. I encountered a similar figure during my visit to Taxila, the cradle of the Gandharan Civilization, which highlights the Greco-Roman origins of Tang art. The lotus signifies a clear Buddhist connection. While the left side of the face is slightly obscured, there is no damage. This piece is unusual in that it is smaller than others I have owned.
