Unusual “pile” of old glass cylinder beads picked up in Mae Sot, Thailand along the Burmese border about 10 years ago. These are from Burma and were probably meant for Victorian Era, British colonials who used them for beaded curtains. I assuming these are of Bohemian, Czech manufacture but am certain that they are old- circa late 19th/early 20th century. There are 20 strands with around 20, 8cm beads per strand and total length of 1.75cm/5ft9in ea, i.e. about 400 beads. A few are broken but about 90% or more are in good shape. The spacer beads are Qing Dynasty glass. These are currently loosely strung “beaded” curtain style and attached to a piece of wood- but I would recommend unstringing them to minimalize breakage before shipping. Ideal for a bead and jewelry designer.
