Large Taoist painting depicting deities. This piece is dated 29th year of the Emperor Daoguang- 1849. The dedication reads it is was gifted by a Li Qinfeng to what I assume was a temple. This has been restored and remounted, quite a difficult process, the last time inquired locally the cost of doing this, I was quoted $900. and this was 15 years ago. Mounted dimensions L: 200cm/79in and W: 30in. Unmounted L: 133cm/52in and W: 62cm/24.5in. The upper area of the mounted area has some staining, there are minor losses to the painting, as well as numerous creases- please examine images carefully. This is the oldest painting of this kind I have found to date- this could possibly be from the Yao ethnic minority.
