Exceptionally rare Jizhou type ware circa Southern Song to Yuan Dynasty. Robustly potted, this has an even dark soy brown glaze covering the body all the way to the foot with a light straw colored clay. There was an old repair on the rim I covered with 23K gold leaf (poor man's "urushi"), as well as a hairline surface crack in the cavetto that does not go all the way through the body. The edge of the mouthrim has fritting as is typical of Jizhou ware. D: 14.5cm/5.6in and H: 7.3cm/2.9in.
