Lovely scholar’s brush pot with a classic poem, by the Tang Poet, Li Bai, incised in traditional characters. Circa 1970/1980. H: 15cm/6in and D: 6.5cm/2.5in. One small surface “check”, on the bottom. Translation: To Wang Lun Li Bai （Tang Dynasty） A boat I have boarded, Li Bai am I, and I’m all set to go, When suddenly from on shore a din I hear ,of stomping and singing I know. The water in the Pool of Peach Blossoms is as deep as a thousand feet, Deep not as the parting sentiments, to me, Wang Lun, you show.
