54 old coconut disc shaped beads mala. I acquired these beads in 1991 at the Barkhor Market in front of the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. These have been restrung on elastic chord so it may be worn around the wrist. These are old hand made beads with beautiful natural patina. Quirky SouLou longevity hat or clothing ornament from the Ming Dynasty. A simple little jade man, carved from Chinese nephrite jade. H: 3.1cm x W: 1.7cm. I am used to seeing these clothing ornaments in Jadeite dating from the Qing, but this is the first one I have found this early.
