Set of Baluchistan panniers with nice silky wool, circa 50 to 80 years old, some wear around the edges but pile is good in condition (no holes etc). L: 120cm/47 x W: 60cm/23in.

Early 20th century Tibetan saddle rug with traditional maroon colored border and backing. I bought this in Zhongdian (aka Shangri-la, Yunnan), over 20 years ago. Some worn areas (please note enlargements) and the sewn on border is coming loose, just needs to be resewn, but overall not bad. With border L: 140cm/55in x W: 75cm/29.5.

Molded Mongolian clay image of Tara circa 19th century or earlier. She is a popular Boddhisatva/Buddha revered in Mahayana and Vajrayana Buddhism and is believed protect people from fear and anxiety. The robust body is deeply molded, giving it an unusual three dimensional quality. H: 8cm/3.1 x 5.5cm/2.2in

Song Qingbai shallow bowl with incised floral medallion in center. This is a cleaned shipwreck recovery piece, with classic greenish blue glaze. No cracks ut a chip on the unglazed rim- as can be seen in enlargements. D: 16.8cm/6.7in and H: 4.3cm/1.4in.

Tang Dynasty white pottery statue in the image of a Zhenmushou “earth spirit”. These are increasingly difficult to find these days. This has a powerful human face, and muscular body with wings bat like ears and cloven hooves. Repaired throughout- all the breaks are clean, please examine enlargements- small bit missing at the top of horn tip. H: 48cm/18.9in x W: 16cm/7in.

Tang Dynasty buff colored, with traces of original pigments pottery statue in the image of a tomb guardian Zhenmushou “earth spirit”. These are increasingly difficult to find these days. The horn has been repaired and there is a repaired surface chip on the back. H: 33cm/13in and W: 10.5/4.1.

This is a very fine and rare antique/vintage piece circa 55/60 years old in perfect condition. I purchased this in 1990 and it has been in storage ever since. This was embroidered by the Dhebaria Rabari ethnic group from East Kutch, it should be noted that this group has ceased doing embroidery over 40 years ago. W: 120cm/47.2in and H: 73cm/28.8in. The silk triangular pieces at the bottom are probably a later addition...

Circa early to mid 20th century, pair of silk sleeve panels with Phoenix, “Shou” characters (longevity) and butterflies. Pristine condition. Total (unfolded) L: 64cm/25in and H: 12cm/8.6in. Please note these are scanned images.

Large Han green glazed pottery hen with unusual spiral design on the wing- this is the only one I have seen with this, and has an Impressionist sculptural quality. The head has been broken off and glued back on. It wouldn’t be that difficult to fill it and match the colors. H: 18cm7.1in and W: 16cm/6.2in.

Classic circa late Edo-early Showa Period (19th century) wooden Buddha with lacquer on gold leaf seated holding his hands in the dhyana mudra. H: 23cm/9in x W: (at base) 17cm/6.8in. Some loss to lacquer exposing gilt underneath. Very well carved, with deep folds in the garment and detailed curls in unisha.

Rare circa mid 20th century, image of Guru Dragpo painted on paper and glued to a card. He is the wrathful aspect of Padmasambhava aka Guru Rinpoche who is considered the founder of the Ngyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. 13cm/5.1 x 11cm/4.2in. Condition as pictured.

Chinese Neolithic high fired, well potted jar with side lugs. Very good condition with original pigment and no repair- just two surface chips (see enlargements) enlargements. Majiayao culture circa 3000BCE. D: 15cm/5.9in and H: 10cm/4.1in

Han dynasty brick with impressed Chinese character repurposed into a functioning ink stone. Scale is noted in enlargements, unusual shape possibly a corner stone that has been cut and rounded in the back. There is also a small “well” in the front corner.

Tang dynasty brick impressed lotus, repurposed into a functioning ink stone. Although the lotus is represented in Han Dynasty secular art, this style of lotus is always associated with Buddhism, which would be more in common during the Tang. The ink grinding surface is a little rough but to me gives it a a naturalistic charm, like a lake in the mountains. The scale is enlargements.
