Fine old Bouyi (aka Buyi) three paneled wedding blanket from South China. This is woven from all hand spun cotton and silk floss thread and natural dyes (exception being the purple dye seen on the back of embroidery), early 20th century. There is some loss to the beige silk threads but overall good condition given it’s age. L: 113cm/45in and W: 79cm/31in. With blue cotton border L: 142cm/56in and W: 107cm/41in.

Fine two paneled blanket from the Dai people of the Dehong, Xishuangbanna region of Yunnan Province Southwest China. The Dai people are part of the large Tai group living in Laos and Thailand and speak a mutually intelligible language, however this style of weaving and pattern are unique only in China. This piece is circa 100 years old (circa early 20th CE). Excellent condition. L: 97cm/38in and W: 65cm/25.5in -with indigo cotton border W: 101cm/40in and L: 135cm/54in.

Very fine and rare underglazed blue and white porcelain jar with lid, from the Southern Yunnan Kiln of Yuxi. This type of ceramic is a fairly recent discovery, the first pieces having hit the market around 2003, although the earliest dating to having found this kind of ware was 1973. The best dating I can give this given its simple design would be late Yuan to early Ming circa 12th century, although ceramics from this area have been produced from the Song to Late Ming...

This was commissioned for temple use, as carpets with red or yellow fields were designated for this purpose.
