Tibetan yak butter tea “po cha” or barley beer “chang” bowl carved from burlwood, possibly Rhododendron circa 50 to 100 years old. D:11.8cm/4.6in and H: 5cm/1.9in, there is one worn chip on the edge. A charming old piece- difficult to find these days. This was not turned on a lathe, but entirely carved by hand.

Good brush painting of a tiger by the artist Li Shou Lin dated 1978. Painted in the traditional style water color and ink mounted on silk and heavy paper. Unfortunately the mounting paper has suffered mold damage while the painting itself was affected in a minor way in the form of some discoloration, having said this if framed with new matting the flaw is very negligible. Strand of ancient Afghani glass beads, circa Roman era. These are original beads (not re-carved bangles or glass vessel fragments). Some are decorated with gold leaf, others exhibit dichroism. Semi antique Timor sarong made from all natural dyes and handspun cotton circa 1950/1960. Both top and bottom have “buna” weft embroidered panels. There is 7cm x 4cm piece missing on one edge, noted in enlargements. L: 110cm/43.2in and H: 103cm/40.5in.

Semi antique blanket or sarong from the Stieng/Xtiêng ethnic group Vietnam. Over 60 years. Woven from all handspun cotton threads and is unusually large for a single panel. There is one ink stain and a small hole (see cover image- there is a stain on the right and further down and small hole). W: 100cm/39.8in and L: 185cm72in.

Good representation in the style of Lin Rongqian’s cursive calligraphy, as a Mandarin: Fu Lu/Cantonese: Fuk. This is a gift given to someone to congratulate them and wish them financial success in their career. This is a scroll mounted painted meant to be hung horizontally. Good Tang Dynasty gray clay brick/tile depicting “Atlas” type, Yakshi figure seated on a lotus blossom. I was in Taxila, (cradle of Gandharan Civilization) and saw a similar figure. This illustrates the Greco/Roman influence in Tang art. The lotus shows indicates an obvious Buddhist connection. The left side of the face is molded a bit obscure, but no damage. Fine Qing Dynasty small carved wood panel depicting a scholar and boy in garden with flower buds and pine trees. Carved on both sides excellent condition with gold, red and black lacquer. L:30.3xm 12in and H: 12.5cm/5.5in.

Nice old Lahu bamboo woven basket (there is some rattan used in the bindings), from the Golden Triangle region in Northern Thailand. This is a genuine ethnic/tribal piece and not made for the tourist trade. There is a carrying strap that comes with this but it is not woven into the basket itself. The basket is in excellent condition while the strap has some brittleness where it folds. H: 22cm/8.5in and D: 23cm/9in.

Lovely hand silk embroidered alter “skirt” with the Eight Chinese Immortals and three double happiness roundels at the top. I recently acquired this with a group of other vintage textiles; this is in perfect condition with a lovely palate of colors. Late 20th century, this would have been hung in in front of a temple altar table’s legs. H: 100cm/40in x W: 94cm/37in. Appears never to have been used.

Good Shiwan censer with beautiful and subtle white flambé moon white glaze circa late 19th or early 20th century - there is one hairline on the rim noted in enlargements. D: 15cm/5.8in and H: 9cm/3.5i

Lovely ceramic amber and green sancai glaze fish offering from the Ming Dynasty. These were put on small pottery altar tables and interred with ancestor to provide for them in the afterlife. Good condition , no damage. L: 10cm/4.9in.
