Good strand of quartz crystal beads (and a few carnelians) excavated from the Tak Burial site near. Mae Sot along the Thai/Burmese border. These can be reliable dated to least 14th/16th centuries due to known and datable ceramics that were found in the same strata, but having said these can be much older as stone beads and have been traded in the region for at least 2000 years. L: 55cm/21.5 in. Weight 180 grams. See enlargements for scale and condition. Please note that the large purpl...

65 loose Bronze Age (500 BCE- 500 CE), beads from Thailand- unstrung and laid out they are about 74cm/29in and weigh 75 grams. Very difficult to find a full strand in Thailand these days as most dealers prefer to sell individually.

Lovely, circa 18th century wood statue of the Chinese Goddess of Mercy seated on a lotus leaf and buds. There is one stem broken on the left bud and the backing plug on the consecration niche is missing. This has the original dedication but it is unreadable. Most likely from Southern China it has traces of the original gilt and lacquer. These have become quite scarce these days due to domestic demand in China, this piece was lucky find coming from an Australian collection. H: 24cmcm/...

A timely and quirky soy brown glazed Korean War era chopstick holder with political slogans. The left hand column translates as “support your family and the Chinese military”, the right hand “oppose America, support Korea” and the top characters “increase productivity”. Possibly used in a factory canteen this is the only ceramic I have ever seen from this brief period. The two crossed flags are quite unusual- on the left you have the standard PRC flag but the left is ...

Rare Yue glazed, four lugged jar with attractive “iron” spot from the Western Jin Dynasty (265-420). This piece is fully glazed on the outside with some degradation on the inner mouthrim annd shoulder, having said this the glaze is stable with no fritting- there is one tiny chip on edge of mouthrim and a firing chip on the base, which I would deem insignificant on this type of piece. The concave bottom and lack of firing support marks are indicative that this was from a Norther...

Classic Song Dynasty celadon incised lotus saucer. As is painfully obvious this is damaged, but in perfect condition, with this color, it would fetch several thousand dollars (and this is a modest estimate). I have done a simple job filling the chips and applying gold leaf to enhance it, so feel free to compare before and after images. This has nice even glaze and more than usual lotus petals carved on the outside. Please examine the enlargements carefully; what you see is what yo...

Nice vintage jadeite bangle circa 40 to 70 years old. Some tiny scratches on the surface but no cracks. Unusually small size perhaps made as a “symbolic protective” gift for an infant, but it seems unlikely they would have worn it as it is so thick and heavy. Nice spinach green highlights. Outer D: 5.5cm/2.18in, inner D: 3.27cm/1.29in and thickness 1.13cm/0.44in, weight 55 grams. Slightly compressed on the inside. I think this could be worn as a pendant. Free shipping Hong Kong R...

Very rare small celadon Yueyao lugged jar from a Zhejiang Kiln, circa Five Dynasties/Early Northern Song. This type of ceramic was a precursor to Longquan ware. There is a firing crack and some fritting (caused by pockets of air trapped beneath the glaze during firing) on one side- noted in enlargements. D: 9cm/3.5in and H: 6cm/24in. I have added a cosmetic "enhancement" (filled the crack and applied gold leaf).
