Beautiful and intriguing Sumba men’s hinggi tunic with rare “pagi- sore” morning-afternoon design. Most hingis will mirror each other in their design at the top and bottom but this one presents us with one single picture. Incorporated into the pattern are horses which are typical wealth symbols with the Sumbanese as well as “sacred crocodiles” and lobsters...

Very rare man’s ceremonial tunic from the Chin ethnic group, probably Falam Township, Chin State Myanmar. I would consider this an antique heirloom blanket between 1910-1940 finely woven from hand spun cotton thread and natural dyes. This incorporates the classic Chin diamond twill weft pattern as well as double side embroidery...

Collection of Miao vintage and antique (most likely) sleeve panels from Guizhou. These date from about 40 to 80 years old; please bear in mind, the ability to do this kind of work has pretty much died out as the economic development in Chinese has caused most young women in the villages to move to the city for better employment opportunities. Textiles still play an important part in Miao life but much of what is produced today is done by machine rather than hand...

Pretty and old China carpet woven in Beijing/Tianjin circa 1910, with floral design throughout. Worn down to the warp and weft in many places but no big tears and the selvedge seems to be complete and intact- please examine enlargements. A clever bunny could take a blue felt tipped pen and color in the white bits in the blue field (an old rug wallah trick). The colors are a nice pastel and would look good in a room with a Chinese or Asian theme...

Exceptionally fine celadon bowl from the Tong’an kiln in Fujian province. Although wares from this kiln were exported to Japan and Indonesia most had a yellowish hue to them and the glazes are quite flaky, this one is a classic celadon color comparable with Longquan and Yaozhou and came directly from China therefore not meant to be an export ware. This has a well executed incised floral scroll and central medallion on a “sieve” pattern...

Fine embroidered patch possibly from an old Chinese baby hat or one of the many Miao groups but to be honest I am not sure. The pattern seems more abstract than a typical Chinese piece with crimped metal alloy decorations. Circa 60 to 90 years old with very intricate and detailed stitching- minor losses to some of the metal bits. Free shipping via Hong Kong Registered Airmail. L: 17.5cm/7in and W: 14cm/5.5in.
